Arya In Super Star Rajinikanths remade Movie

Call it dearth of stories or drying up creativity, Tamil cinema seems to be increasingly resorting to remaking old hits. After the successful Billa, Rajini’s movies seem to be the favorite ones. Last heard, Johnny, the Mahendran-directed classic starring Rajini and Sridevi will be the next in line to be remade by the director’s son John Mahendran.

It is also learnt that Arya is among the director’s choices to recreate the Robinhood type role immortalized by the Superstar. Interestingly, not so long ago, Ajith, in a television interview, denied news about any Johnny remake being planned.

Nayanthara was unperturbed by criticisms

Nayanthara the number one heroine of 2008 was all over in the news with four releases- Kuselan, Sathyam, Aegan and Villu in Tamil and a special song appearance in that blockbuster mutistarrer Twenty: 20 in Malayalam.

Some critics loved her while some of them ripped her apart for being over-glamorous!

But still Nayan was unperturbed by criticisms and continue to be on a roll.

The actress who is currently doing three films Aadhavan (Tamil) Bodyguard (Malayalam) and Anjaneyulu (Telugu) and signed a film with NTR. She is avoiding the media, friends and party circuits and is only thinking about her films and loves her privacy.

The thrill of good performance or scene gives her a high and she realizes the importance of a good director to enhance her performance on screen. The actress is currently shooting in Amsterdam for a song with Telugu hero Ravi Teja.

The only person missing from the entire party scene in Hyderabad and Chennai is Nayan who preferred to sit in her hotel room and her policy seems to be- ‘See there’s time for everything in life and right now is the time to concentrate on work’.

And sure, things have working out for her. The going is good, and the only thing that Nayan realizes today is that she is happy only when she is working.

Shriya’s variety fare

Shriya, who has been moving betwen Hollywood and Bollywood during the last couple of years, is back to Tamil films. Kanthaswamy, Kutty, Thoranai and Jaggubhai constitute her latest line-up. Shriya’s roles in all these films are different and interesting.

In Kanthaswamy, Shriya is the independent city slicker who is ready to lock horns with anyone to prove her point of view. As Kanthaswamy’s heroine, she shares a love-hate relationship with the hero. In Kutty, she is a naïve village girl who falls in love with a boy from the neighbourhood. In Thoranai she is again the carefree city girl who plays her life’s games in a cool and composed manner. In Jaggubhai, she is a pampered rich girl who is taught sense by her father, the older Sarathkumar.

Namitha's Deshdhohi is in full swing

The second schedule of Desadrohi in which Namitha playing the role of a tough cop is in progress from May 14. Directed by KS Nageswara Rao and produced by GVH Prasad under the banner of Sridevi Cine Chitra, the film is progressing well in and around Hyderabad. The director says, the second schedule was planned for about 12 days. We are taking up the combination scenes of Namitha, Sana and Santi Chandra, besides some other action scenes involving Namitha, Ravi and Sobhan.

Power Fast, a protégé of fight master Vijayan is choreographing the action scenes. We are confident that Namitha would earn a very good name on the lines of Vijayashanti in ‘Kartavyam’ with this flick.’ Producer Prasad says, ‘The shooting would continue till July and we will wrap it up in that month. We are making efforts to release the film on August 15.’ Brahmanandam, Ramireddy, Vallabhaneni Janardhan, Krishna Bhagawan and others are in the cast. Screenplay is by Kamalesh Kumar, music is by Srikanth Deva, art is by Narayana while editing is by Rambabu.

‘Aadhavan’ shoot progresses briskly

Director KS Ravikumar is known in industry cycles to be a stickler for timing. If the director works on ambitious projects like ‘Dasavathaaram’, he follows them up with multiple smaller projects, and it has been this ability that has made him do so many films. While he has already completed his ’Jaggubhai’, with Sarath and Shriya in the lead, Ravikumar has also quickly completed the second schedule of ’Aadhavan’, his next project, with Suriya and Nayantara in the lead. The first schedule of the film was shot in a palatial bungalow in Chennai where over 40 percent of the movie was completed. Following that, the crew flew over to Kodaikanal, where a song and few scenes were shot.

The film has music by Harris Jayaraj and choreographed by Bhaskar. This song has been captured on the mountain side over 40 kms from Kodaikanal. Following this, the film’s crew will proceed to shoot in Kolkata, where two songs will be shot. Later, two songs of the film will be shot abroad as well. With this, the Suriya -Nayantara starrer will be released for Diwali. Following these, the actor will proceed to do ‘Singam’ with Hari, while KS Ravikumar will do a film with Vikram.

Soundarya denies break-up with Warner Bros

Soundarya Rajinikanth has denied that her company Ocher Studios has broken up their existing relationship with Warner Brothers. According to a statement issued by Richard Fox Executive Vice - President International, Warner Bros: “Warner Bros. has been and will continue to work with Ocher Studios. Together, our companies have a number of southern Indian language projects in various stages, from early negotiations to active development. We will announce these projects at the appropriate time. But, any rumour that suggests otherwise is simply not true.” Added Soundarya Rajinikanth Managing Director, Ocher Studios: “Ocher Studios Pvt. Ltd and Warner Bros have already established a very successful relationship and the team will very soon announce their forth coming projects. The rumors suggesting otherwise which are doing the rounds are part of someone’s fictitious imagination.”

Namitha celebrates B'day with family!

Namitha, the oomph girl of Kollywood celebrated her birthday with parents after a long gap of 4 years at her Mumbai residence on May 10th, Sunday. For the last four years I have been celebrating my birthday with unit members in some film locations” In Chennai, her fan club members celebrated Namitha’s birthday with much fanfare by distributing free meal and sweets to the orphan children. Early last week, Namitha Fan Club President Selvam and PRO John had made exclusive arrangements and distributed free three computers, school books and stationary to students who are studying at Namitha Evening Tuition Center, a free education wing of Namitha Fan Club functioning at Somaiyanoor, Coimbatore. The actress who was shooting in Coimbatore found time to meet the kids and spend some time with them. Namitha Fans Club also organized evening free tuition centers at Pondicherry. The volunteers who are working free of cost in the tuition centers participated in the celebrations at Chennai and enjoy the day by bursting crackers. A great way to celebrate one’s birthday.
