Priyamani-”Acting with new faces is risk”

Priyamani says that acting with new faces is risk. Priyamani who is currently acting in Malayalam and Telugu films said,” I am interested to act in Tamil films than other language films. But I am not getting good offers in Tamil. I have listened to lot of stories. All of them were heroine subjects. They were good stories. But the hero will be a new face or the producer or director would be new. I don’t say they cannot make good films but I don’t want to take the risk. Some of my friends’ films are not being released in spite of their hard work. It is a terrible that if the film is not released. Because of this I had to be careful.”

The actress had really suffered a very bad time in her initial days in filmdom and finally made it bigger with Ameer’s ‘Paruthiveeran’. The actress is now pairing with Suriya in ‘Raktha Charithram’ that is hitting screens on November 19.

She is also teaming with Nagarjuna in a Telugu movie titled ‘Ragadam’ and Sumanth’s next Telugu movie to be titled. Her recent Malayalam release with Mammooty has a good opening in South India.

VIKRAM AND PRIYAMANI INVITED TO THE US

Vikram and Priyamani are invited to attend the annual convention of FeTNA (Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America) in Connecticut, US as special guests. The invitee list also includes Bharathiraja, Santhanam and Thamarai. The yearly event, which is being held for the past 23 years, will see a turnout of hundreds of Tamil population residing across USA from July 3 – 5. It will be a congregation of Tamils to recognize community achievements, organize professional forums, and enjoy music, dance, literature and theatre performances.

The convention will also feature Harris Jeyaraj’s musical evening with prominent singers from the Tamil industry. Entertainment skits and other programs are also planned by various US based Tamil Sangams, according to a press release.

Priyamani enjoy with Tollywood top actor

Priyamani has denied reports appeared in a section of the media that she was ’very close’ to Tollywood top actor Jagapathi Babu, with whom she had acted in many films.

’We have co-starred in a number of films. But does it mean that we have any relationships beyond professional boundaries?’ Priyamani reacts sharply to reports, dubbing it as ’rumours’.

’They are figments of some ugly mind’s imagination. Just because I have worked with Jagapathi in many films, you cannot link me with him. I enjoy a good friendship with him and there is nothing more than that’, she says.

Priyamani again team up with Balu Mahendra

We know that after proving her talents in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films, National Award winning actress Priyamani has recently captured the hearts of Sandalwood opposite Kannada superstar Puneet Rajkumar in Raam, being directed by Maadesh. The latest we hear is that the dusky beauty is all set to team up with ace director Balu Mahendra again. The duo was earlier seen in Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam which also stared Dhanush in the lead.

Now, the latest buzz is that the veteran director will team up with the actress for his next venture with a new face in the lead role. Anwar, a gold medallist from Poona Film Institute will handle the camera and the maestro Ilayaraja will create the music. We also hear that students from Balu Mahendra Film Institute will play prominent roles in the production side. More details are awaited.
