Sameera Reddy is in Chennai for the shooting of NNN!

Sameera Reddy is someone who does not hide her admiration for Chennai. This pretty lass is having a rather hectic time travelling and shooting for her future releases. One such release is Nadunisi Naigal which is directed by her favorite director Gautham Menon. Sameera was in Chennai on Sunday for the shooting of NNN. "Always good to be back in Chennai! Last day of shoot for Gautham's Nadunisi N! Hope u guys are having a lazy Sunday! It's been hectic 4 me!" was her tweet on her page.

We are definitely pleased with her professionalism and also the fact that NNN shooting is over. With no background score or songs, the movie has raised the bar for thrillers.

Sameera - Double Bonanza with Priyan

Sameera Reddy is in Chennai shooting for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s untitled thriller with new boy Veera as the hero. She is shooting night shifts for this film which happens in the night on the coastal ECR seaside villas and on the highways.

Sameera is happy with the way thing have unfolded as two of her last Friday (July 9) ‘de-glam’ releases Red Alert in Hindi and her first film with Mohanlal in Malayalam Oru Naal Varum (ONV) have come in for critically appreciation.

On Wednesday Mohanlal’s close buddy Priyadarshan, arranged a special show of ONV for Sameera at his Four Frames preview theatre.

In fact the good news is that Priyadarshan has signed her up to play one of the leads in his next film starting in London with Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgan, where she is rumoured to be playing a terrorist!

Says Sameera: “ I worked for Red Alert where I play a Naxalite woman without any make up and my performance is being talked about, while in ONV, I play the mother of a five year old fighting for the custody of her daughter. It was a great learning experience for me to be paired with Lal ettan (Mohanlal), one of the finest actors in the country.”

Sameera Reddy is boring being single!

Sameera ‘hottie’ Reddy was in Chennai recently to shoot for Gautham Menon’s next flick and she had a taste of a thriller when most of the shooting was done at night. She enjoyed them even though she is not a night bird she admitted.

Gautham’s quickie is an edge-of-the-seat thriller and Sameera plays a character called Sukanya. On the recent controversy on her not being a member of Nadigar Sangam to do films in Tamil Sameera clarifies that registering with the Nadigar Sangam was the first thing she did when she got her first offer in Kollywood. She says she is a member of Nadigar Sangam even before her first mega success ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’.

On the personal front Sameera is still single and the pretty babe feels the status of being single is very boring at the moment. That’s some food for thought.

Nadigar Sangam has issued a warning to Genelia, Anushka, Sameera Reddy, Kajal Agarwal, Hansika Motwani and a host of other actresses who did not register at the Sangam till date. In a letter to these actresses, the President of the Sangam, Sarath Kumar and General Secretary Radha Ravi stated that they should become a member soon or face a ban in Kollywood.

It has been reported that some members of the Nadigar Sangam visited the Uttama Puthiran shooting spot where scenes involving Genelia were being shot and demanded that she register as a member to continue acting in Tamil films. The actress is reported to have acceded to this demand. It needs to be seen what the other leading ladies will do.

Rajini- Sameera in Chandramukhi – Part 2!

Vasu directed Kannada film ’Aptha Rakshaka’ starring late Vishnuvaradhan is breaking all the box-office records in Kannada film history. ’Aptha Rakshaka’ is a sequel to ‘Aptha Mithra’ which was made as Chandramukhi staring super star Rajinikanth. Now director P. Vasu is seriously working on the remake of ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ in Tamil.

P. Vasu has earlier said, if he is to remake ’Aptha Rakshaka’ in Tamil he cannot think of anyone other than the super star as he brilliantly did the first version. Our reliable sources say P. Vasu has shown the Kannada film to the super star and also discussed with him the changes he intends to make for Tamil suitable to Rajini. P. Vasu has even gone one step ahead and made sketches of Rajinikanth as Vettaiyan and Sameera Reddy as Chandramukhi to show. He is also in talks with Sameera for the film.

Ajith’s 50th film

There is more news on Ajith’s 50th film. This Goutham Menon film will have his favourite star Sameera pairing opposite Ajith once again. The pairing was well received in the recent hit ‘Asal’.

Sources say Goutham Vasudev Menon had already narrated the story to Sameera, the actress has given her consent to do it. If it happens, then the movie would be Sameera's third under the direct baton of Goutham. This super cop story will be produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri.

Ajith's double treat in ‘Asal’

It’s official. Ajith himself has confirmed he is doing a dual role in ‘Asal’. The actor however says the two characters will be totally different from each other.

“When Saran completed the script, we found a character which had equal importance as that of the hero. Impressed by it, I expressed my desire to do the role. Saran accepted it happily,” says Ajith.

Saying that one of his getups would surprise the audience, he adds: “The film has lot of surprises. One of them would be my getup. We finalised it only after working on various ideas. In short, ‘Asal’ would be a perfect treat for film buffs.”

Meanwhile, Ajith fans celebrated the audio launch of ‘Asal’ that took place in Chennai on Monday. Music stores all over Tamil Nadu were thronged by enthusiastic fans, who had no patience to listen to the songs from their ‘Thala’ film.

Produced by Prabhu and Ramkumar for Sivaji Films, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana have acted opposite Ajith in the film.

Ajith with two heroines

Sivaji Productions is starting a 23-day schedule of their Ajit action thriller Asal, from September 18 in Paris and other parts of southern France including Cannes.

Later the unit will move to London, where a major chunk of the film will be shot.

The film directed by Saran has Sameera Reddy and Bhavana as heroines. Two songs tuned by Bhardwaj are going to be canned in this schedule. One of the songs will be picturised against the moonlit Eiffel Tower in Paris.

After the Paris and London shoot nearly 80 percent of the film will be over. Asal is likely to be a Pongal 2010 release.

Sameera Reddy shining bright in Kollywood

Sameera Reddy seems to be making her presence felt strongly in Kollywood.


The actress may not have done that well in Bollywood but Tamil Film Industry are welcoming her warmly. She made her presence felt in Vaaranam Aayiram and instantly earned a lot of fan following. This attracted the Kollywood producers to sign her for their projects. The actress would be seen paired up with Thala for Asal to be directed by Saran. Not only this, Sameera has also been signed by Gowtham Menon for his untitled film where she would be seen acting opposite newcomer Karthink. The shooting of the film has already commenced in Chennai.

Ajith's next project with Sameera Reddy

Ajith has started on his next project. After Aegan, Ajith has plunged into his next film with the verve and zest that is his deeply ingrained work ethic.

The latest film called Asal, meaning original, will star Sameera Reddy. This hot, shapely star from Bollywood wowed Tamil audiences with her very down-to-earth and girl-next-door performance in Vaaranam Aaiyram. It was her sweet and heart-rending smile that did it for most of her male fans.

Produced under the Sivaji Productions banner, Asal will be directed by Saran. The project was initially planned with Gautham Menon. After that several names including Dharani and Vishuvardhan did the rounds, but now Saran is to handle the project. The film’s music is by Harris Jayaraj.

Saran will take up the project just as soon as he wraps up Modhi Vilayadu starring Vinay and Kajal Aggarwal. Colonial Cousins Hariharan and Leslie Lewis debut as music directors in Modhi Vilayaadu.
