Namitha makes problem with the director

Director Thiru rues that his Azhagana Ponnuthan turned out to be a damp squib due to Namitha. Thiru said that Namitha refused to star in the film after several scenes in the film were canned. When he filed a complaint at the Producers’ Council, it was decided that Namitha should complete the film.

However, the actress refused to accord full co-operation. Thiru says that he had to modify the story and the climax due Namitha’s indifferent behavior. He adds that Namitha was responsible for the huge losses that the producer of Azhagana Ponnuthan had incurred. According to Thiru, the climax was not what he had in mind and film was cut short by 20 minutes.

Jaganmohini to release on September 25

Jagan Mohini is releasing on September 25 in both languages. Seen as a movie which has set a new high standard in graphics, there is a lot of expectation from this movie directed by cinematographer-turned director N.K. Vishwanathan.

Namitha is understandably excited and a wee bit nervous as the hype had been on a level higher than for her earlier movies. She is happy on two counts – the trailers have been well received and the music of 'Isaignani' Ilayaraja has become popular.

Namitha said she had no problem to be called a glamour doll but she also has a deep desire to be known as an actress with talent, one who can also slip into glamour roles. In more ways than one, Jaganmohini means a lot to her. “This is one movie where my character is the pivot with the whole plot revolving around me," says Namitha with great enthusiasm.

Namitha also has the English film Maya to look forward to. But before that, she has to pass the Jaganmohini test. “Yes, it has been playing in my mind right from day one of the shoot,” she said with her typical honesty.

Sneha Namitha Lose Weight

Namitha's Deshdhohi is in full swing

The second schedule of Desadrohi in which Namitha playing the role of a tough cop is in progress from May 14. Directed by KS Nageswara Rao and produced by GVH Prasad under the banner of Sridevi Cine Chitra, the film is progressing well in and around Hyderabad. The director says, the second schedule was planned for about 12 days. We are taking up the combination scenes of Namitha, Sana and Santi Chandra, besides some other action scenes involving Namitha, Ravi and Sobhan.

Power Fast, a protégé of fight master Vijayan is choreographing the action scenes. We are confident that Namitha would earn a very good name on the lines of Vijayashanti in ‘Kartavyam’ with this flick.’ Producer Prasad says, ‘The shooting would continue till July and we will wrap it up in that month. We are making efforts to release the film on August 15.’ Brahmanandam, Ramireddy, Vallabhaneni Janardhan, Krishna Bhagawan and others are in the cast. Screenplay is by Kamalesh Kumar, music is by Srikanth Deva, art is by Narayana while editing is by Rambabu.

Namitha celebrates B'day with family!

Namitha, the oomph girl of Kollywood celebrated her birthday with parents after a long gap of 4 years at her Mumbai residence on May 10th, Sunday. Early last week, Namitha Fan Club President Selvam and PRO John had made exclusive arrangements and distributed free three computers, school books and stationary to students who are studying at Namitha Evening Tuition Center, a free education wing of Namitha Fan Club functioning at Somaiyanoor, Coimbatore. The actress who was shooting in Coimbatore found time to meet the kids and spend some time with them. Namitha Fans Club also organized evening free tuition centers at Pondicherry. The volunteers who are working free of cost in the tuition centers participated in the celebrations at Chennai and enjoy the day by bursting crackers. A great way to celebrate one’s birthday. Why Namitha is cheerful after ‘Arundhathee’

Namitha is a busy bee, shuttling between Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai. The Oomph girl of Kollywood is living out of suitcases and confesses to be home sick these days.

Says Namitha : “Last few months have been so hectic that, I had no time to catch up with my family or friends. And today I am off to Mumbai, where my new flat is ready for a two-day break.”

Incidentally, Namitha was in Kochi and the backwaters of Kerala, shooting for her first Malayalam film where she has a meaty role. Namitha adds: “I really loved my schedule in Kerala. My director Pramod is a very sweet guy and the whole unit treated me like a queen”.

In Telugu, the audio of her Prabhas starrer Billa was launched in style and Namitha was the cynosure of all eyes at the function. She is doing the same role she did in Tamil Billa, and says: “ I was so happy because everyone in the unit were taller than me. My director Ramesh, Prabhas, Anushka who has become my close friend are all very tall and I felt so comfortable working with them. I was really upset when we completed the shoot, something that rarely happens to me”. In Tamil, Namitha is waiting for the release of Indravizha in which she has a very interesting negative role.
