Mamta Mohandas back to kollywood

Two years after Guru En Aalu with Madhavan, Mamta is doing a Tamil film.

She is Jayam Ravi’s heroine in Aadhi Bhagavan, directed by critically acclaimed director Ameer.

Mamta has changed tracks once again as she is back to Tamil films, which at one time she had put on the backburner. At that time she had said “that more meaningful roles came her way in Malayalam films, and do not want to waste my time doing silly films.”

Now in an interview to a Tamil daily she said: “ I have realized that a commercial heroine image is more important than doing arty and realistic films. The reach of commercial cinema is more. I like my role in Aadhi Bhagavan and with a director like Ameer, I’m sure to go places.”

Mamta finally ready to sing in her mother tongue

After singing a number of super hit songs in other South Indian languages, actress Mamta Mohandas is finally getting ready to sing in her mother tongue Malayalam. Mamta will lend her voice for a song in director Amal Neerad's latest film Anwar, in which she is also playing the female lead.

Notably, Mamta has already sung for 13 Telugu films and 3 Tamil films and recently sang for a Malayalam album produced by East Coast videos. Anwar, based on terrorism, starring Prithviraj, was launched at Ernakulam on January 5 and will start rolling in March.
