Sangeetha about Manmadha Ambu

Kamal Haasan's Manmadha Ambu with K.S. Ravikumar was formally launched at a press meet in Chennai recently. The film is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin under Red Giant Movies banner. Trisha will team up with Kamal Haasan for the first time. Madhavan and Sangeetha will also play prominent roles in the film. A 90 member crew including the lead pair completed their first shooting schedule in Europe recently. A major part of the film will be shot in Italy, Spain, and Greece.

“We shot for almost a month for the first schedule. We were rushing around like mad people, rehearsing and shooting our scenes. Though we were all abroad and sailing around in a cruise ship, work was very taxing. But I’m definitely not complaining. It was so nice to work with veterans like Kamal sir and K.S. Ravikumar sir. And getting back with Madhavan and Trash (Trisha) was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it,” Sangeetha said to a leading English daily.

“The unit will decide the locations in another 20 days and we should be on board soon. We’ve shot almost 65% of the film in the first schedule. In fact, Kamal sir and I are almost done shooting for our parts. Only Trash and Maddy have to shoot for theirs now,” she added.

Kamal film titled ‘Manmadhan Ambu’?

Kamal Haasan’s forthcoming film, which was initially tentatively titled ‘Yavarum Kelir’, has undergone a name change now. If sources are to be believed, the new title of the movie is ‘Manmadhan Ambu’.

Remember one of the lines of the evergreen song ‘Andhi Mazhai Pozhigiradhu…’ from the Ulaga Nayagan’s 100th venture ‘Raaja Parvai’ has the words ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. Apparently inspired by it, the film has been titled so, sources say.

Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin on Red Giant Movies banner, the movie would bring together Kamal and K S Ravikumar once again. They had earlier given hits like ‘Avvai Shanmugi’, ‘Thenali’, ‘Panchathanthiram’ and ‘Dasavatharam’.

The film has Trisha opposite Kamal with Madhavan playing an important role. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music and a poetic number, presumably the title song of the film, was recorded at the music composer’s studio recently.

Madhavan helping the homeless

madhavan_1

There is something about Madhavan that make you want to smile – it’s either his boyish charm or the naught glint in his eyes! But there’s one more reason to smile – we really ust appreciate his efforts towards giving stray animals a home.

While most of us pity the plight of the cute pup whining at the end of the street, Madhavan has joined hands with Blue Cross in their endeavour to find stray animals and give them food and shelter. Word has it that he has even bought a piece of land with the intention of building a place to house these homeless animals! Good job Maddy!

Madhavan’s ‘Guru En Aalu’ is finally hitting the screens this week. Directed by remake-expert Selvah, the film is an adaptation of the Hindi hit ‘Yes Boss’, which had Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. Madhavan and Mamta Mohandas play the lead in this film in which Abbas plays Madhavan’s boss. Vivek is playing an important role in this film too; in fact, he even has a few scenes in which he plays a proper woman. The movie is a hilarious comedy based on the 1997 Bollywood flick, and as been in the making for about a year now. It was originally supposed to hit screens late last year, but the film’s release has been delayed for various reasons, and this Friday, it will take on biggie ‘Mariyadhai’ apart form ‘Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum’.

This movie is important to Madhavan, to stabilize his position in Kollywood, after the positive reviews that ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ has fetched him. In fact, ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ and Guru En Aalu see Madhavan playing such contrasting roles that they will showcase Madhavan’s ability to play varied roles. Music for the film is by Srikanth Deva. Jayavel Murugan, a leading distributor in USA, says "I’m happy that the film is getting released now. It’s coming immediately after ‘Yaavarum Nalam’, which makes it all the more significant for Madhavan’s career in Tamil.”

Satyaraj as a father for Madhavan

Madhavan kollywood actor
Known for making movies which are set in a rural milieu, contained with the elements of pragmatism, Thankar Bachchan’s next directorial venture will have two smart actors of Tamil cinema. Satyaraj, with his first-rate movies like ’Vedham Pudhidhu’, ’Poovizhi Vaasalile’ and Madhavan with his distinctly ahead movies like ’Kannathil Muthamittal’, ’Ayutha ezhuthu’, ’Rang de basanti’ are undoubtedly high-grade preferences of Thankar Bachchaan.

Satyaraj, who shared an excelled rapport with Thankar and rendered one of the best performances in films he has done hitherto in ’Onbathu Roobai nottu’, was immediately impressed by the script and gave his nod in agreement to play Madhavan’s father.

Madhavan’s zeal for quality movies is well-known and is more noticeable from the breed of movies he opts to feature in. In this Thankar’s movie, which is being buzzed to be produced by Ayngaran International, Madhavan plays a down-to-earth, magnanimous, realistic character. The filming is expected to commence soon.
