Neetu Chandra ‘everyday is new day’!

Ask Neetu Chandra what the meaning of her name is. Her immediate reply is “Neetu means ‘everyday is new day’. And I sincerely believe in this saying as we are like new-borns when we wake up from bed.”

Eagerly expecting the release of ‘Aadhi Bhagavan’, the ‘Jayam’ Ravi starrer directed by Ameer, she says, “It is a wonderful script and I have immense belief on Ameer. He is my good friend too.”

Denying any ‘further relationship’ with the director, she says, “Not just Ameer, his wife too is a great friend of mine. In fact, it is she who would give lunch for me too while shooting in Chennai.”

Happy about taking the avatar of a producer recently, the actress says, “I always wanted to make meaningful Bhojpuri movies and it is coming true now. My brother is taking care of the film.”

Deadline for Genelia, Hansika,Neetu!

Nadigar Sangam has time and again stressed on the importance of the stars enrolling themselves as the member of the association. This time, they issued an ultimatum which set August 15th, 2010 as the deadline for enrolment or the stars would be banned from acting in Tamil films.

Genelia, Hansika, Neetu Chandra, Vimal and host of other actors have made a beeline to the Nadigar Sangam and got themselves registered, sources say. According to Radha Ravi, the secretary of the Sangam, about 20 stars have registered in the past few days.

Neetu Chandra turns as producer

Sexy siren Neetu Chandra is all set to don the avatar of a producer. The lady will produce a Bhojpuri film titled Deswa. "I want to give Bhojpuri cinema a facelift. There is so much of vulgarity and violence in Bhojpuri films that the industry is becoming synonymous with only raunchy movies. I want to change all this and reform Bhojpuri cinema by bringing in more sensibility as well as sensitivity," the actress said.

“Deswa is a coming-of-age movie about three young boys and covers the period from 2000 to 2010. It explores their journey in search of jobs from Bihar to other places and then back to Bihar. It was the subject that lured me to become a producer,” Neetu added.

Reportedly Neetu Chandra is likely to play the female lead in Thala Ajith's much awaited 50th film Mangaatha directed by Venkat Prabhu.

Lakshmi is a part of the Ajith-starrer Mangatha!

Lakshmi Rai has reportedly told that she is a part of the Ajith-starrer Mangatha, which is to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. It is already reported that Telugu star Nagarjuna and Neetu Chandra will play important roles in this film. However, it is still not certain with whom Lakshmi Rai would be paired.

The actress has returned from a trip to the US recently and is busy with the Malayalam film Christian Brothers, which has Mohan Lal as the hero, and the Lawrence-directed Kanchana.

Ajith will share the screen space with Nagarjuna

The buzz in Kollywood is whether Ajith would accept a multi-starrer. There have been quite a number of stories that Ajith will share the screen space with Nagarjuna while others were staunch believers that their idol will opt for a single hero subject.

This created a lot of confusion about Mangatha, which was announced to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. From what we hear now from our sources in the tinsel town, Ajith is still involved in this film. And that is not all. Neetu Chandra is rumored to have bagged the lead role in this film. It is, however, not clear if she would pair up with Ajith or Nagarjuna.

Neetu Chandra lost her father

Neetu Chandra, one of the new stars in Kollywood lost her father to cancer on Friday in Mumbai.

 

Neetu's father Umesh Chandra Shrivastava (60) passed away last evening. Umesh has been fighting cancer for the last few years.

He is survived by his daughter Neetu and two sons.

Neetu who was just back from Australia where she was shooting for Vishal's Theeratha Vilayatu Pillai, was shattered after her father was admitted to the hospital as she was very close to him.
