Simbu watches 'Billa 2' along with Hansika!

This is a scene from his upcoming film 'Vaalu' where he is cast opposite Hansika Motwani.A scene was shot at the Kamala Theatre in Vadapalani where this cut out was used. The scene has Simbu watching 'Billa 2' along with Hansika and Santhanam.

Produced by Nic Arts and directed by newcomer Vijay, the film is edited by TS Suresh. It's one pucca mass commercial film with a strong dosage of comedy. The teaser trailer of the film received good response thanks to some witty one liners.
It may be mentioned, STR is a die-hard fan of Thala Ajith and has expressed this several times. It looks like his 'Vaalu' will pay tribute to Thala this Diwali.

Simbu doing Dabangg tamil version!

Silambarsan’s character in Osthi is called Vel Murugan, says a source from Kollywood. The star essays the role that Salman Khan did in the original version Dabangg. To fit in the role of the cop, STR is hitting the gym and is said to be doing vigorous exercises to tone up his physique.

Osthi has Sonu Sood playing the villain while Jithan Ramesh plays Silambaransan’s brother. The film is directed by Dharani. Richa Gangpadhyay plays STR’s arm candy in Osthi. Thaman has scored the music for this flick.

Simbu confrms ‘Dabangg’ remake

All eyes are on STR today, even as his ‘Vaanam’ is opening big. But the actor is not as tensed as one would expect him to be. Hoping good times for the mulistarrer at the box-office, he speaks about his future projects.

“Podaa Podi will be my next release. I will finish shooting for it soon. As far as ‘

is concerned, shooting is taking place as scheduled and the film is shaping up well,” he says.

Confirming a longtime buzz, he says, “Yes, I am going to do ‘Dabangg’ remake. Dharani will direct the film and I am eagerly looking forward for the shoot, which is expected to start in June.”

On walking out of ‘Ko’, which hit the screens last week and doing extremely well, STR says, “It’s purely a professional decision and I am not worried about it. Because I have a winner like ‘Vaanam’ and the film will speak on behalf of me.”

Ko creates waves in Simbu's fans page

Jiiva's Ko, which has opened to great appreciation worldwide, has created some waves in Simbu's Facebook fans page. Not many know that Simbu was Anand's first choice for Ko. Some felt that the film had a political dimension to it which would not suit their hero while others felt that Simbu has missed a golden opportunity to work with K.V. Anand. Interesting, the page received more than 100 messages within a few hours after the release of Ko. But this has not gone well with Simbu; he immediately reacted, "Doing a movie and not doing it is an actor's personal choice. I welcome your comments and at the same time I don't want anyone to talk bad about other films in my page... I am from the same industry and i respect cinema and want all movies to do well for our industry."

Simbu also revealed that his much-awaited film Vaanam will grace theatres on April 29, 2010 and he assured his fans this film 'will not let them down'.

‘Evandi Unna Pethan’ has become controversy for Vaanam!

What do you expect when you have the biggest titans of film and music industry is coming together? So were the anticipations when Dayanidhi Azhagiri acquired the rights of Silambarasan’sVanam’. The audio launch was supposed to be held in grandeur, but plans were dropped on the spur of moment.

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s single track ‘Evandi Unna Pethan’ has become a major source of sensation for the film’s promotion and quite a sort of controversy as well.

simbu’s Vaanam release date announced!

Vaanam has been in the making for quite some time now and Silambarasan’s fans are eager to catch their favorite star on screen after the success of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya.

From the day Vaanam’s audio launch date, which is to be held on March 6th, 2011, was announced Silambarasan’s fans are eager to know about the film’s release date. Enquiries in Kollywood have revealed that the film may hit the silver screens on April 9th. The filmmakers intend to release Vaanam as soon as the Cricket World Cup is wrapped up and hence have decided on the said date, we are told.

Vaanam, which is the remake of the Telugu flick Vedam, is directed by Krish and stars Anushka, Bharath and Prakash Raj. Music has been scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Recently we have reported that the music launch of Simbu's upcoming flick Vaanam will be held in London today. But due to some visa problem, the producers of Vaanam have postponed the audio launch. According to Vaanam's music director Yuvanshankar Raja, all the songs in the film are peppy and will surely rock the charts. The story evolves around five people, who meet in the climax of the film due to unforeseen circumstances.

Looks like Superstar's Enthiran has already created a new trend in Kollywood i.e. having audio launches abroad. The next to follow the trend is Sumbu's Vaanam, which is a remake of Telugu super hit Vedam.

Simbu in london for poda podi

Riding high on the success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Simbu is all geared up for his next ventire Poda Podi opposite Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. The actor is currently in London to begin work for the film. Toni & Guy, the internationally reputed UK-based salon, has given Simbu a new look in the film.

The film is directed by debutant Vignesh Shiva and produced by Gemini and Padam Kumar. Reportedly the first shooting schedule will begin soon in London. Sources say there are many songs and dance sequences in the movie, along with generous doses of comedy and romance. As the title suggests, this film is an energetic rom-com about a vibrant couple full of life and loving to dance; Varalaxmi enacts the role of a Salsa dancer.

Silambarasan will start working for ‘Podaa Podi’

Silambarasan is cool to all the news happening around him. He has clarified his position on the Lingusamy film and is moving forward.

Silambarasan will start working for ‘Podaa Podi’ this week. The crew of the film are flying to London on July 28 and will start work immediately. The London schedule was planned for 20 days initially but it may be extended as the Lingusamy film has been dropped by Silambarasan. Meanwhile Vettrimaran is also set to launch his Silambarasan film 'Vada Chennai' once Dhanush's 'Aadukalam' is released.

Also 'Vaanam' will progress at brisk pace to be a Diwali release. Silambarasan also has a surprise coming up this December. Watch this space regularly.

Lingusamy and Dayanidhi are upset with Simbhu!

Lingusamy and producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Movies are reportedly upset with Silambarasan. Apparently, the two are irked over the fact that the actor had opted to star in Vaanam and had announced that it would move simultaneously with the Lingusamy project. Lingusamy and Dayanidhi, sources say, are considering replacing Silambarasan for the main role, as they want the actor’s entire concentration on their film.

In the meantime, Silambarasan is camping in Mumbai and holding discussions with percussionist Siva Mani and music director Dharan for Poda Podi. The actor is probably concentrating on Vaanam and Poda Podi.

Bharath joins with Simbhu!

This is an unexpected development in the tinsel town! Bharath will share the screen space with Silambarasan in Vaanam. The young breed of actors are really keen on multi-starrers, it seems. Bharath will play the role essayed by Manoj in Telugu.

Silambarasan says that Vaaliban is delayed for want of a suitable heroine. The actor, who is riding high on the success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, is supposed to direct and star in Vaaliban. But things turned out to be more in favor of Silambarasan with VTV turning out to be a smash hit and offers seem to be pouring in from all quarters.

On how he bagged the VTV offer from Gautham Menon, Silambarasan says that he is a fan of the director and had watched Minnale over 25 times. Having understood that Gautham is adept in directing romance flicks, the actor decided to take up the offer.

VTV to be remade in Hindi!

Gautham Vasudeva Menon is all set to remake his latest hit Vinnaithaadi Varuvaayaa in Hindi soon. The film will be jointly produced by IN Entertainment (Part of Hinduja Group) and Gautham Menon. The director is currently busy with the screenplay for the Hindi version. Oscar winning musician A.R. Rahman will compose music for the Hindi version too.

This romantic musical starring Trisha and Simbu (in Tamil) revolves around the love between an aspiring film maker Karthik, who wants to make it big in his profession, and a Christian girl Jessie. The film was also made in Telugu as Yemaaya Chesave, starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha.

“We are delighted to be working with INE and the Hinduja Group for the Hindi remake of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. It has been a revelation working with A.R. Rahman on the original film and we plan to re-create the same magic in the Hindi remake,” the director said.

Simbu to team up with P.C. Shriram

Known for his punch dialogues and masala movies, everybody was surprised when Simbu landed a movie with Gautham Menon, who has made subtlety his forte! And from the title alone, one can fathom that this is no usual commercial flick. While many felt sorry over Gautham’s indiscretion, Simbu has finally proved that he can be a good boy too!

Now post the success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, we hear that the multitalented Simbu wants to ensure the sophisticated class act in everything he does. So the young actor approached master cinematographer P.C. Shriram for his next directorial venture Vaaliban. Moved by the young actor's sincere request, the ace cameraman accepted the offer. Vaaliban is produced by S.S. Chakravarthy and Yuvanshankar Raja is scoring the music. Apart from playing the lead role, Simbu will wield the megaphone for the film.
