Manirathinam’s ‘Raavana’ shelved for a day
A tiff between local tourist operators and members of Film Employees Federation of South Indian over renting vehicles shelved a day’s shooting of ‘Raavana’ in Ooty. Nearly for more than a hour, Mani Rathnam and his crew had to wait at Ooty. Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, stunt director Peter Hein, Cinematographer Mani Kandan and other crewmembers were present there. The tourist taxi operators blocked FEPSI vehicles and demanded that they be given an opportunity to operate their vehicles for the shooting. The Film Employees Federation of South India stand is that only FEPSI members could operate the taxis was unjust because Rs 1 lakh had to be paid for FEPSI membership.
Finally, the issues were settled down amicably and shooting resumed. However, talks would be happening between producers council and FEFSI Association by end of this month.

Rajnikanth said, “This is India’s biggest movie and I am very happy to work with Sun Pictures and Mr Kananithi Maran.” At the time of filing this report, Eros International officials were not available for comment.
Sun Pictures to produce Rajni's Endhiran
Ever since director Shankar announced his new film, Robot that was renamed Endhiran -- with Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the film has made news.
Earlier, the film was to be produced by London-based Aingaran Films International (P) Ltd. Now, a press release from Sun TV Network Ltd -- one of India’s largest entertainment conglomerate -- says that the movie division of Sun Pictures will produce Endhiran.
’This project promises to be the first of its kind in terms of computer graphics, special effects and stunt sequences. Top notch technicians from Hollywood are being roped in for this movie, making this project truly global,’ states the press release.
Sun Pictures made a splash in the Tamil film industry by producing Kadhalil Vizhundhein starring Nakul, of Boys fame, and Sunaina. With aggressive marketing, the film became an unprecedented hit. The success of their second film Thenavattu shows that with aggressive marketing, even a typical masala film can become a hit.
Sun Pictures officially announced their involvement in Endhiran yesterday. Present on the occasion were Rajnikant, Shankar, Sun TV Network Limited chairman and managing director Kalanithi Maran, Sun Pictures chief operating officer Hansraj Saxena and the film’s cinematographer Rathnavel.
"This is a big moment for Sun Pictures, as we feel this will be India’s biggest movie," says Maran. "We are very happy and proud to be associated with superstar Rajinikanth, Shankar and A R Rahman. With this, Sun Pictures will scale greater heights internationally."
"Working with Rajnikanth is a pleasure," Shankar added. "There is high expectation from this project and by joining hands with Sun TV, the hugeness of the movie will be even more."
"This is India’s biggest movie and I am very happy and honoured to work with Sun Pictures and Kalanithi Maran," Rajni said.
Endhiran seems to be even bigger than Sivaji, Rajni’s earlier release with Shankar and Rahman. It will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi by the end of next year.

Vijay's Villu first copy has been leaked in Bits through the internet
Prabhu Deva who lost his son due to cancer yesterday is in a state of shock as his latest movie VILLU songs are out on the internet and the movies first copy has been leaked in Bits through the World Wide Web. It is said that three songs -Uyirai Thozhittem, Nee Parthidhel, and Kanavellam Neethane are on the internet websites which are offering free downloads of this songs.
The scenes in these songs feature Vijay dancing with a item girl and so this may make the fans of Vijay happy to sneak into their hero’s next venture.
The movie is likely to be released early next year and still some songs and scenes are left to be canned. Nayantara is the female lead in this movie and is said that the glam doll has left no scope of ease in her regular skin show to her fans.
Shankar's Enthiran to be shot in Top Slip?
At present, Aishwarya Rai is perhaps living the most difficult yet productive period of her life. Why? Because of the monumental effort she has to put in while working in Mani Rathnam’s bilingual and Shankar’s Enthiran simultaneously. Imagine the pressure she would be experiencing: A role in a high-class Mani Rathnam or Shankar film does not come easy; it entails for an immense amount of hard work for the artist! Plus she needs to be fit and in good shape for Enthiran, which will reportedly require her to do some stunts as well. To top it all, she has to shuttle between Salakkudi in Kerala and Chennai, where Mani’s Ravana/ Ashokavanam and Shankar’s Enthiran are being shot respectively.
But considerate Shankar has been kind to Aishwarya Rai and is willing to make quite a lot of changes in his schedule. The recent news we hear is that Shankar is making a change to the third round of shooting which was supposed to be held in Kulu Manali. To save Aishwarya Rai the trouble of travelling from Kerala to Kulu Manali, Shankar is willing to hold his next schedule in Top Slip (37 km away from Pollachi), an equally scenic and beautiful hill station.
There is also a chance that he would opt for obscure locations of Nilgiris, Ooty, or Kodaikanal. Since he wants to keep his project a secret until its release, he always has two or three options for a shooting location and finalizes the spot at the last possible moment, making it hard for the media to follow his crew.
Well, Shankar’s compassion and improvisation skills are excellent and admirable. It also appears he would have mastered espionage and logistics by the end of Enthiran’s shooting!

Trisha lapped up the project for 80 lakhs
In less than few days of Nayan having been shown the door from the Lingusamy directed Payya, Trisha bagged the project and is all set to star in the movie. It is learnt that Nayan demanded a crore for the movie and refused any negotiations whatsoever. The producers, on the other hand, were ready to shell out 75 lakhs on her pay check.
This tug of war eventually ended with the producers finding a replacement for Nayan. Last heard, Trisha lapped up the project for 80 lakhs and signed in the contract papers giving away the required dates to Tirupathy pictures.
Payya is expected to kick start soon and it would be Karthi’s third venture after the long-pending Selvaraghavan directed Aayirathil Oruvan.
Nayantara stood at number one

Simbhu's ‘Silambattam’ -Same but different
Ajith's next project with Sameera Reddy
Reema Sen-'Aayirathil Oruvan' will be a truly amazing film
Trisha faced some anxious moments at Bangkok
It was a long journey for Trisha to reach Chennai from Bangkok. The actress faced some anxious moments at Bangkok airport before reaching Chennai. The actress was in Bangkok to shoot for a Telugu film titled ’King’ opposite Nagarjuna.
Trisha had been involved in filming for three days and had made arrangements to board a flight bound for Chennai. To her shock and dismay, she found the airport locked due to protests from opposition parties in Thailand.
As a result, she had to reach Phuket by road and catch a flight from there to Kuala Lumpur and from there to Chennai by yet another flight.
Says Trisha, ’ I was so very tense. But some how, we managed to reach Chennai though with tremendous difficulty.’
Nayanthara is out of Lingusamy’s Paiyya
Nayanthara is out of Lingusamy’s Paiyya produced by his brother Bose under their home banner Thirupathi Pictures and directed by him in which Karthi was supposed to be her co-star.
Remember that Lingusamy had signed Nayanthara for a whopping salary of more of than Rs1 Crore for this project. Everybody was shocked by the figure, as no female lead has ever been paid so much in Kollywood. No other star in Tamil has commanded and got such price which clearly indicated that she adds value and opening to a film.
Said a peeved Nayanthara: “I have a valid contract with the producer on my salary and now with no substantial reason, he wants me to bring it down. Why should I? I had given dates for this film from September and for the last three months he was unable to start the shoot due to various reasons. I understood his situation and waited patiently without signing any new film. In the meantime, I came to know that Lingusamy was contacting other actresses and spreading false rumours about me which I ignored, giving him due respect as a film maker.”
In fact, Nayanthara was to meet Nalini Sriram her costume designer and the director for the photo-shoot that was slated for mid- December.Out of the blue, Lingusamy called up Nayan’s manager and said that he wanted to re- negotiate her salary stating that he does not have the budget to pay the promised salary and he was on cost cutting!
Nayan is honest and upfront about the way she feels: “ Lingusamy must have thought that I will silently take a cut in my salary while he will get the name of a producer who paid a Crore to his heroine and walk away with all the publicity. Did he not know about the budget when he signed me? He could have been more transparent by discussing his problems with me in the larger interest of the film instead of playing nasty games? I would have definitely come down on my salary if he had told me about his budget”
It is indeed a tough decision that Nayanthara has taken which clearly shows that she is strong and honest in a way.
