SOUNDARYA WAITING FOR ENDHIRAN

Rajinikanth’s fans started to wonder what happened to Sultan – The Warrior, the animation film that is being directed and produced by his daughter Soundarya. Enquiries in Kollywood revealed that Soundarya plans to release Sultan only after Endhiran hits the screens.

According to trade pundits, this could have a positive impact on Sultan because Endhiran is being produced by Sun Pictures and will get maximum publicity. This in turn would have the cash registers ringing for Sultan.

Considering the business motives of Soundarya and timing her release accordingly, there is a strong speculation that her animation film could turn out to be a hit.

Kamal film titled ‘Manmadhan Ambu’?

Kamal Haasan’s forthcoming film, which was initially tentatively titled ‘Yavarum Kelir’, has undergone a name change now. If sources are to be believed, the new title of the movie is ‘Manmadhan Ambu’.

Remember one of the lines of the evergreen song ‘Andhi Mazhai Pozhigiradhu…’ from the Ulaga Nayagan’s 100th venture ‘Raaja Parvai’ has the words ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. Apparently inspired by it, the film has been titled so, sources say.

Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin on Red Giant Movies banner, the movie would bring together Kamal and K S Ravikumar once again. They had earlier given hits like ‘Avvai Shanmugi’, ‘Thenali’, ‘Panchathanthiram’ and ‘Dasavatharam’.

The film has Trisha opposite Kamal with Madhavan playing an important role. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music and a poetic number, presumably the title song of the film, was recorded at the music composer’s studio recently.

Kamal Hassan's next begins on June 3!

Kamal Haasan's upcoming venture with K.S. Ravikumar will be formally launched in a press meet to be held in Chennai on June 3, 2010. There are reports this film has been tentatively titled Yavarum Kelir. Devi Sri Prasad will compose the music for this film produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin under Red Giant Movies banner.

Tamanna denies doing Malayalam film!

tamannah_100bIt was reported in a section of the media that Tamanna is going to do a Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal.

But sources close to the actress who is currently holidaying in US say that there is no truth in it.

As per the report which first appeared in Malayalam press, Tamanna has been paid a bomb to be Mohanlal’s heroine in an Anil directed film.

The shoot of the film was to start in September, with noted cameraman Jayanan Vincent as the cinematographer.

However a source close to Tammmu said: “ Tamanna is the busiest actress down south, and after she comes back from her holiday, she has to start work on four films. She has two in Tamil with Dhanush and Karthi and two in Telugu with Allu Arjun and Nag Chaitanya. Where does she have time to do a Malayalam film?”

Mamta has changed tracks once again as she is back to Tamil films, which at one time she had put on the backburner. At that time she had said “that more meaningful roles came her way in Malayalam films, and do not want to waste my time doing silly films.”

Now in an interview to a Tamil daily she said: “ I have realized that a commercial heroine image is more important than doing arty and realistic films. The reach of commercial cinema is more. I like my role in Aadhi Bhagavan and with a director like Ameer, I’m sure to go places.”

Vijay to be banned!

Reports from Kollywood say that Vijay could be banned from acting in films. Investigations revealed that the Theatre Owners’ Association is calling for an emergency meeting on May 22nd 2010 to discuss this issue.

According to a source, the theatre owners in Tamil Nadu are demanding that Vijay act in a film to make good the losses they had incurred in screening his films.

It may be noted that Vijay has a string of films that did not do well as expected and the theatre owners suffered losses.

Rajini’s ‘Endhiran’ on schedule
