Akhil was my first crush. I always thought he was so cute! My best friend Hema and Akhil and a few others used to hang out together in a group. And after nine long months of making me run behind him, he finally proposed to me and this time, I said ‘no’. But he remained my best friend till he died in an accident. He always looked out for me and he was there for me at any time. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. I don’t want to talk about his death because I am in denial. I have not accepted it and I never will. For me, he’s always around somewhere.

My dad was in the Air Force and have always studied in the Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.

When I was in Class 3 in Gujarat, we used to have roll numbers on our seats. Every day I would find a red rose on my table with a small note that said, ‘Hi, I am in love with you’. This continued for many days. I was too scared to tell my parents, so I went and told my class teacher instead. But she didn’t take me seriously. One day, written in chalk in bold letters on the road was my name ‘Diana’ followed by ‘I love you’. My parents were furious. My mother came to school and when they investigated, they found out that it was a boy in Class 6 who said that he was madly in love with me. The second incident happened when I was in Class 9. There was a tall and handsome boy who had a huge crush on me.

We were good friends, but one day he called me and said he wanted to talk to me in private. I took a friend along with me and and that’s when he bluntly said that he was in love with me. I was very angry and told him I didn’t feel the same way about him. I refused to talk to him from that day onwards. That’s when the trouble started. He started skipping school and he even attempted suicide. Luckily, he was admitted to a hospital in time. His mother was so upset that she requested me to save her son’s life. She asked me to talk to him and comfort him so that he could come back to normal. I also agreed on the condition that he would not expect anything more. Finally, everything ended well.
