Shooting for 'Kochadaiyaan', Superstar Rajinikanth's multicrore extravaganza kick-started in London on Monday. But before that, the first scene was shot in Chennai last week, we learn.
"It has been a long time practice for Rajini to formally start his shootings at the famous Pillayar Temple located inside the AVM Studios. So a customary shot was canned last week in front of the temple," say sources.
Not many were informed about it, sources say, adding select members of the crew, along with Rajini, Soundarya R Ashwin and K S Ravikumar were present. It was a formal shot which had Rajini breaking a coconut for Lord Ganesha after offering prayers.
Earlier last week, Ravikumar was on a spiritual trip to Lord Muruga Temple in Tiruttani and Lord Balaji Shrine in Tirumala, to seek the blessings of the Almighty for the success of the project.
