Prabhu Deva’S unforgettable moment!

Prabhu Deva says that the most unforgettable moment in his life happened at the traffic signal in Mumbai. The actor-choreographer-director reveals that when his car was waiting for signal at a busy Mumbai area, a beggar spotted him and danced one of his most difficult steps.

Awestruck by his performance,  did not know how to praise his dance moves and at the same time his car had to move on. Prabhu says that he still regrets not being able to do something for the beggar and that particular moment will remain etched out in his life forever.

Yuvan Shankar Raja out,Shankar Mahadevan in!

It was announced that Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the music for the film which will have Kamal Hassan in the lead role. Sonakshi Sinha is pairing with Kamal in this film. Selvaraghavan is directing this film.

Now there is confirmed news that Shankar Mahadevan will be composing music for this film. The shooting of the film is to commence soon.

Initially it was announced that Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose the music for this film. But now instead of Yuvan, the popular play back singer and Bollywood music composer has been signed for this film.

Shankar Mahadevan along with his friends Eshaan and Loy will be composing music for this film. It is interesting to note that the same group has composed music for the film Aalavandhan which had Kamal in dual roles. This film is being produced in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.

‘Evandi Unna Pethan’ has become controversy for Vaanam!

What do you expect when you have the biggest titans of film and music industry is coming together? So were the anticipations when Dayanidhi Azhagiri acquired the rights of Silambarasan’sVanam’. The audio launch was supposed to be held in grandeur, but plans were dropped on the spur of moment.

Anushka out ,Trisha in!

Director Siddique’s Bodyguard in Malayalam and Kaavalan in Tamil is to be remade in Hindi and Telugu as well. Salman and Kareena Kapoor will do the Hindi version, whereas Venkatesh and Trisha have been confirmed for the Telugu remake.

It was thought that Anushka will be roped in to star opposite Venkatesh but it looks like Trisha has landed this role. The actress herself has confirmed it. The shoot is scheduled to begin in April. She is confident that to bring in a unique identity to the role.

Simran delivered her second child!

Simran who ruled the roost in Kollywood till a few years ago, took a sabbatical after her marriage to Deepak Bagga and shifted to Delhi. She has shifted back to Chennai some time back. Simran was blessed with a baby boy Adheep who is now 6 years old. Her family will be complete now with a second addition.

Simran delivered her second child, a boy again, in Fortis Malar Hospital this morning. According to her doting husband Deepak who stayed with his wife in the hospital, the mother and son are doing fine. We wishes the second-time parents a joyous parenting and loads of wishes on the new arrival!

Dhanush, GV Prakash and a few friends of theirs are planning a trip to Monaco. With Dhanush getting free having completed Maapillai and GV Prakash also raring for a holiday after a hectic schedule, the duo have decided to gather few common friends of theirs to go on a trip to this exotic land in Europe.

Ajith’s Mankatha postponed to June

Thala Ajith's 50th film Mankatha, which was suppose to grace theatres on Ajith's birthday (May 1), has now been postponed. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film also stars Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Premji Amaren, Arjun and Vaibhav in prominent roles.

The Mankatha team is currently busy with its final schedule in Mumbai which will go on till April 16. However, the talkie portion and two songs are yet to be shot. Apart from all these, we have the exciting IPL and Tamil Nadu elections in May. So considering all these factors, the producers have decided to postpone the release to June.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that the film will be a complete action-thriller that will narrate the match-fixing sagas in international cricket matches.

Jayaprakash as Trisha’s dad!

Jayaprakash, arguably the most sought after character artiste in Kollywood these days, has found himself a place in the ‘Mankatha’ game. Yes, he is doing a crucial role in this 50th film of Ajith, directed by Venkat Prabhu.

The producer of many hit movies, Jayaprakash will play Trisha’s father in ‘Mankatha’. In the meantime, he is happy with the feedback he received for his performance in Mysskin’s ‘Yudham Sei’.

In the film produced by AGS Entertainment, he brilliantly played an alcoholic pathologist alongside Cheran. Interestingly, it was Cheran who introduced Jayaprakash as an actor in ‘Mayakannadi’.

For those who want to know more about the origin of the rapport between Cheran and Jayaprakash, it dates back to the late 1990s, when the latter produced ‘Porkaalam’, a movie directed by the former.

Ajith’s Mankatha has Nine songs !

Ajith's much-awaited Mankatha, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has raised expectations almost to breaking point. All eyes are now on the music launch which is expected to take place in April. The star cast of this multi-starrer includes Trisha, Arjun, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai, Premgi Amaran, Ashwin and Vaibav.

Meanwhile, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has recently completed Mankatha tracks. "Six songs composed!!! Three songs recorded!! There will be a promo song!!! One club mix and a Mankatha theme music!! 9 tracks!! U1 rocks," director Venkat Prabhu tweeted. According to sources, Mankatha will have nine songs, of which three tracks will be used for promotional purpose.

Prabhu Deva completed the dubbing of Urumi!

Prabhu Deva completed the dubbing of Urumi in a Chennai studio last week.  

Prabhu Deva told : "It was fun dubbing for Urumi. Initially I was tensed as I had to speak in Malayalam spoken 400 years back  with Malabar slang, but I picked it up fast".

Santosh Sivan the director of the film had initially kept three days for Prabhu's dubbing, but to the surprise of the entire team, he finished it in 6 hours with breaks, in a day.

Urumi carried excellent reports and Prabhu plays a very important role, crucial to the story. He is there throughout the film which is almost three hours.

Adds Prabhu: "Urumi will be a visual treat.  The shots and locations are awesome. It will transport the audience to the 16th century and I think it will be landmark film in my career."

There is a song between Prabhu and Nithya Menen which is sure to scorch the screen.

The audio of the film will be launched next week at a grand function in Thiruvananthapuram.

Rajini’s Rana: Deepika, Vidya & Rekha ?

It is rumoured that Vidya Balan will play in Rajnikanth’s next Raana. This movie will see Rajini in triple role which will be made simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu.

If reports are true, the female leads for the film would be Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan and Rekha.

First of all, if the rumors are true, then Deepika will cast opposite a young Rajni,  Vidya Balan will cast opposite a middle-aged Rajni and Rekha will cast opposite an old Rajni.

Ajith’s Billa 2 to begin in May

Here comes the don of Kollywood! Ajith and Chakri Toleti (of Unnaipol Oruvan fame) are all set to begin the most awaited Billa 2 in May. The prequel is produced under the banner of Wide Angle Creations (led by George Pious and Suresh Balaje, son of producer-actor K. Balaje, who produced the original Billa with Rajinikanth in 1980) and presented by Mumbai based Sunir Kheterpal, CEO of IN Entertainment (India) Limited, part of the Hinduja Group.

"Development team at INE in Mumbai is currently working on the story and screenplay of Billa 2 with inputs from the director. I am looking forward to be working with Chakri Toleti on Billa 2, who, in a short period of less than a fortnight, has brought in the freshness, energy and vigour required for this project. Yuvan is an integral part of the Billa franchise and all of us are glad to have him on board," Ajith said in a press release.

Unlike Shahrukh Khan's Don 2, Billa 2 is not a sequel but is being designed as a prequel to Billa, wherein the film will focus on the journey of how David became Billa.  

Interestingly, Billa 2 will have the same technical team which was behind Billa (2007): cinematographer Nirav Shah, editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Yuvanshankar Raja. Other details about the cast and crew will be finalized befor March 15.
