Kamal Haasan to remake Sagara Sangamam?

Remember South India's evergreen hero Kamal Haasan's classic Sagara Sangamam (1982), directed by K. Viswanath in Telugu and Tamil, in which Kamal played the role of a passionate classical dancer with Jayapradha in the female lead?

Kamal, who recently completed 50 years in films, said in a recent interview at Hyderabad that he was keen on working in a remake of this film. The actor further said that if any director intended to remake the film, he was ready to play the same role once again.

"Although I'm 55, I am raring to do the same role of a 25-year-old if they choose to remake the film. In my opinion, art is ageless," he said. Sagara Sangamam won numerous awards, including National awards for best music direction (Ilayaraja), best male playback singer (S.P. Balasubramaniam) and best feature film (in Telugu).
