During a function to facilitate Kamal Hassan’s fifty years in the film industry, Rajini had reportedly said that all the actors were ‘children of the Goddess of Art’, but ‘Kamal was so special that the Goddess had carried him in her own arms and let the other actors follow her’
(Checkout the paiting above in which art Goddess carries kamal, while Rajini, Amitabh Bachchan and others seen below )
Looks like after the function, Rajini apparently had called a reputed artist to his house to paint what he felt about the description of Kamal with the Goddess of Art.

Ravi has returned to his chocolate boy look after donning an action hero's look in Peranmai. Prabhu and Suhasini play pivotal roles. Vadivelu provides comic relief. Music is scored by Yuvanshankar Raja.
Now, a film with director Ameer only portends Jayam Ravi’s rise as an important hero of Kollywood this year. Meanwhile there are also rumours that the film will be bilingual in Tamil and Telugu. Actor Karthi overwhelmed us with his extraordinary performance in his debut flick 'Paruthiveeran' and is now raking in appreciation with his recent release 'Aayirathil Oruvan'.
The young actor has won laurels from Tollywood buffs. It's worth mentioning that the dubbed version of 'Aayirathil Oruvan' is doing good business as the direct Telugu release 'Kedi' starring Nagarjuna in lead roles.
Recently, the actor was here to meet the winners of Valentine's Day contest at Sathyam Cinemas. When asked about what makes him happy, Karthi said, "Home is the best place where I feel like paradise. There were reports that Tejashree is in love with a popular cinematographer and both are planning to tie the knot soon. The actress has now come out with an explanation on the issue.
“I have no one to support in film industry. The growth that I had achieved so far is due to my hardwork and the confidence directors and producers had on me. Some forces which are unable to stomach this are spreading such rumours,” she says.
Tejashree adds: “I am really not in love with anyone. And I don’t have the idea of marrying someone connected to cinema. I want to make it big in films before settling in married life and I am striving towards that.”
The ‘Ottran’ and ‘Madurey’ actress is currently doing ‘Manmadha Rajyam’ in Tamil besides movies in Kannada and Marathi. “Manmadha Rajyam will bring out the actress in me. My role is so substantial in it,” she says.

Bollywood grapevine is abuzz with rumours that Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti has signed a film opposite Suriya to be directed by AR Murugadoss.
Remember that there were rumours doing the rounds that Asin will be doing the film but now sources close to the director confirms that Shruti, is ready to be the heroine.
Shruti she said: “Right now, it’s too early for me to deny or confirm about this project. I have to come down to Chennai and hear the script and then decide whether I should do it or not”.
Industry watchers feel that it is a dream debut for Shruti in Tamil as the film has a wonderful team like cameraman Ravi K.Chandran and music director Harris Jayaraj to be produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The wait is over. Asin is back with a bang in Kollywood!
One of the most popular actors in Tamil cinema has agreed to be the leading lady opposite Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the Tamil remake of Malayalam Bodyguard!
Sources close to Asin have confirmed that she has finally given her nod to do the Tamil remake. It will be the hat trick film for one of the most popular pair in Tamil, Vijay and Asin who are coming together after the super success of Sivakasi and Pokkiri.
The film will be directed by Siddique who did the original and produced by Sivaraju Venkatraju of Geetha Chitra International, who last made Priymanavale with Vijay in 2000.
Actually three years back when director Siddique had narrated the story to Asin she had promised to do it in Tamil, if Vijay was the hero. Asin is one person who never breaks a promise. And when Siddique after the release of Malayalam Bodyguard featuring Nayanthara and Dileep, said that he was ready with producer Raju’s backing and Vijay’s call sheet, Asin gave the green signal.
Siddique’s Bodyguard is basically a beautiful love story and the heroine is the pivot around which the film revolves. Remember that in Malayalam, Nayanthara had done a brilliant job, which is one of her best performance till date.
Please note Asin in all her interviews has made it clear that she will do a south film if she gets a good script. In a way if Asin does the role in Tamil, it will be a fantastic come back for the actress.
Asin always wanted a pan Indian presence and after all doing a movie in south will enhance her repertoire of films.
Siddique who is now reworking the script is a very happy man, because he wrote the original keeping Asin in mind. The shoot of Bodyguard in Tamil is likely to start in the middle of March in Chennai.
‘Silambattam’ Sana Khan has said Silambarasan is her mentor and she can’t compare him with his current film’s hero Bharath. While talking , Sana Khan diplomatically spoke for all her heroes so far. But she was particular to talk special of Silambarasan.
Sana Khan has her reason to be grateful to Silambarasan. When Silambarasan was looking for a heroine for ‘Kettavan’ he found Sana Khan. But the film did not take off. Silambarasan did not let go Sana Khan empty handed and offered her ‘Silambattan’ because of which she is here today in Kollywood.
Sana’s latest film 'Thambikku Indha Ooru' is ready for release. She has two more films – ‘Aayiram Vilakku’ and Santhupottu - under production.
Asin may have lost her way in Bollywood. But Kollywood still longs to take her back.
After not getting any big offers after her second Hindi film ‘London Dreams’ with Salman Khan sinking at the box office, Asin is again looking back at Kollywood.
In spite of her Bollywood sojourn, Asin is still the most wanted girl in south. Now the news is abuzz that quite a few big projects are lined up for Asin, waiting for her approval.
We already reported that Asin will play the lead opposite Vijay in the Tamil remake of Siddique’s Malayalam flick ‘Bodyguard’. Nayantara was the heroine in Malayalam original. This will start in March.
Another project waiting for her to take is her ‘Ghajini’ director A R Murgadoss’ next film for Red Giant Movies which will have Suriya in the lead.
Rumours also float saying Silambarasan had a meeting with Asin in Mumbai trying to convince her for his pet project ‘Vaaliban’. Another big one is ‘Jayam’ Raja’s proposed film with Vijay. ‘Jayam’ Raja is the one who introduced Asin to Tamil with M. Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi.
Now is the biggest of all. Goutham Menon is said to be talking to Asin for his Hindi remake of ‘Kaakha Kaakha’. If it happens Asin will be working opposite the most handsome guy in Bollywood John Abraham who has been confirmed to play Suriya’s role in Hindi.
A mindboggling comeback, so to say.
After the success of ‘Asal’, Ajith is taking a much needed break. Thala is quietly visiting some of the familiar holy places with his family.
When asked about his recent Tirupathi and Velankanni visits, the unassuming star says his spiritual inclinations are not something new and he and his wife Shalini are always open in their views on spirituality. “I always prefer to share my sorrows and happiness with only God”, says Ajith.
He also revealed his secret desire to visit places like Rishikesh and Manasarovar on the Himalayas in the future. Ajith has visited other holy places like Sabarimala and Ajmer before.
When asked about what follows ‘Asal’, the ultimate star said that he is interested to work with Goutham Menon. But he wants to release his 50th film on the Diwali day. The producer has been finalized and the other things are under discussion including the director and cast.
At a time when the only news that we get about Prabhu Deva is the movies that he is about to direct and Nayan, here comes this piece of information out of the blue.

Soundarya Rajinikanth and Ashwin Kumar are engaged! The engagement ceremony took place last evening at Park Sheraton Hotel in Chennai. It was a grand evening, with smiles all around and several stars present to bless the superstar's daughter and her fiance. The guest of honour was, of course, Tamil Nadu Cheif Minister and long time well-wisher of Rajni, Kalaignar Karunanithi.
Other members of the CM's family, including his wife, his daughter MP Kanimozhi and Durga Stalin also graced the occasion. Several members of the film fraternity turned up at the august event to wish the young couple and congratulate Rajinikanth and wife Latha. Soundarya and Ashwin[son of city-based industrialist Ramkumar, who runs a construction company], were of course, the happiest of the lot, and rightly so!
Has Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva formalized their live-in relationship?
Well, the Tamil tabloids are full of titbits about their “public togetherness” ever since they came together on stage to perform on February 6 at Chief Minister’s felicitation function in Chennai.
Since then the couple have been spotted at many places like Chennai airport coming out together after Nayan’s photo shoot in Bangalore for her Kannada film, at an upmarket restaurant, and last Friday night at Inox Multiplex in Chennai watching Shah Rukh Khan’s My Name Is Khan.
And on Valentine day Nayanthara, in a freewheeling interview with a leading Malayalam daily said- “If I like a person I will go out of my way to do anything for that person. I just don’t understand why people make and hue and cry that I tattooed Prabhu’s name on my hand. I really don’t care what people think about me as it is difficult to please all and sundry. I believe in the theory that we should live for ourself and the people who love us.”
Prabhu and Nayan are one of the idyllic looking couples in the dream world of Kollywood, the reason may be avowed that both are looking brilliantly stylish these days. And a little birdie tells us that Prabhu made his special one feel even more special on Valentine Day by taking Nayan for a long drive, a romantic candle lit dinner by the seaside at an exotic resort and lots of gifts. Cute isn’t it?

No, we are not talking about his Valentine's Day plan, but we bring you the handsome actor's upcoming releases! More than two years after his debut movie Paruthiveeran, Karthi had a recent release to his credit in Aayirathil Oruvan. Though the movie has been getting mixed responses, there is no doubt that his performance in the movie is stupendous. And the movie by itself is an important chapter in Tamil cinema.
Breaking away from rustic roles, Karthi will be seen in a urban look in his forthcoming film Paiyya, followed by Naan Mahan Alla with director Suseendran, which is 60% complete. According to Karthi, though he enjoyed playing rustic roles, he is also happy that he can finally play a city boy, something that is close to his real self.
After these, Karthi will star in Vada Chennai directed by Vettrimaran. The buzz is that the handsome actor will play the role of a good fisherman who unwittingly falls in the trap of a mafia gang. As usual, this Vettrimaran flick will be set in the bylanes of Chennai with a realistic touch.

Yes. Director Shankar is planning a 3D version of the magnum opus ‘Endhiran’ to pre-empt any piracy attempt.
After the unpleasant episode in ‘Jaggubhai’, where the full length film was leaked on the internet even before it came out of the processing lab, Shankar is trying each and every way to plug the holes. Today all major films are happening under strict vigilance by competent persons. Mani Ratnam has appointed managers at each point where the works for ‘Raavan’ is happening.
So in a no holds barred attempt to make the audience watch ‘Endhiran’ only at theaters, Shankar is even contemplating to convert a part of ‘Endhiran’ film into a 3D version. He has already started consultations to this effect with the experts on the economics of converting the film into a 3D film.
The demo version of ‘Endhiran’ in 3D was shown to Shankar by an effects company and he is awfully impressed with the result. So the chances to see ‘Endhiran’ wearing the 3D spectacles are great.
